Here is another great example of a family firm that has global presence yet retains modesty in their approach to promotion.  

For many years now I have been 'beating the drum' for family firms and dispelling the myths that family firms are small and lack ambition. Here we have the Reimann family from Germany who own numerous businesses within their holding company with brands including Lemsip, Dettol, Nurofen and Durex being owned by them.  Further investments include stakes in Douwe Egberts and now the acquisition of Dr Pepper Snapple which is the fifth largest fizzy drinks company in the world.

This gives us yet another opportunity to shout out about all the positives - a family firm that owns iconic global brands and continues on its path without having to shout from the rooftops - but family values and drive are at the core of what they are all about with a solid governance plan and 'code of conduct' with stipulations being that the heirs could not sell to outsiders, were not allowed to be involved with the day to day running of business and were not to give interviews.

A private family owned company where the privacy is maintained, the business continues to grow and they continue to be a fantastic example of the contribution that a family firm can make too.

Clearly, family firms can and do make a difference on a global scale!
